Migraine drug

I quote Hain commenting on the disappointing efficacy of the new migraine drug, CGRP:

“This is because Migraine is not a homogeneous condition, as it is defined by symptoms rather than molecular biology or imaging. This means it is a “wastebasket condition” resembling many other conditions defined by symptoms”

There are one or two members on the trial though if I recall?

We had a thread, or two about this one before I recall. Yes, apparently it has a very average performance when it comes to it. Frightfully expensive currently too. It’s so unfair to get plp’s hopes up even it seems only moderately effective. I’ve forgotten the figures I read but it didn’t seem as good as alot of the established preventatives in practice. Might be of use though to some by fact its injected which bypasses the gut. May help somebody. Hope so, Helen

On sort of a tangent here, but I saw this article today and it was really interesting:

Basically it says that they’re discovering that the immune system may play a part in some neurological conditions.
