Can Amitriptyline effect periods?

Hi all, (mostly ladies) :see_no_evil:

Just a quicky, since I’ve upped my dose of Amitriptyline to 25mg I am late for my monthly cycle, its around 4 days late. I am having all the symptoms that I would get before my usual ones. Bad migraine, cramps all the rest but just no actual period…

Is this common? :thinking:

Yes it can. No idea how common it is. It’s highly anticholinergic. Try Search facility. I’ve posted before. Helen

Well, mine have been wonky for the past few months but I chocked it up to mid-life creeping :smirk:

Oh really? Do you know roughly what dose you were on when they started being a little off?
I’ve only gone up 5mg so only a pin prick.

Not that I like having them but still I need to be mentally stable :joy::joy: hoping it will pass once Im used to the new dosage. I’ve found a few topics on it now thanks to @Onandon03! :+1:
