Audio recording a physician visit?

I’ve found that when I see a specialist, it’s difficult to try to take notes during the visit. I was wondering whether any of you had tried to do an audio recording of an office visit. If I could record the doctor’s answers to my questions, I could play it back and home and transcribe it.

I see there are apps available for phones; has anyone used an app to do something like this? I have an Android-based phone.

There are many sound recording apps in android you can try one of those and leave it on during your appointment.

Don’t scare your doctor into thinking you are going to record his words then suit him later

I actually thought about that. It wouldn’t surprise me if some doctors wouldn’t want to be recorded, just because of the possibility of a lawsuit later.
