Please Help Me With Food

I have a reduced VEMP in my left ear so i know something is off in my left ear. Also it is the same ear with tinnitus which changes during my attacks or migraines or acute episodes.

ECoG is a good test for Meniere’s, what was the doc’s comments on the results ?

I love your list, it is pretty comprehensive. Every ear test known to man should be a good guidance for newbies here  . Also shows i have still more tests waiting to be done and probably they wont show anymore than what i already know.

He said that all of my test results were “normal” and that I don’t have an ear problem. It wasn’t until last week when I was looking at the test results again and reading Dr. Hain’s site that I saw that the ECoG wasn’t exactly “normal.” I’m not going back to that guy, by the way.

Yes, I’m still not sure that I believe the “vestibular migraine” diagnosis for me. And I just made an appointment with a different specialist who is across the state (160 miles away). I’ll start a new thread about that.

Good luck and keep us posted. But don’t get your hopes too high for a different diagnosis. All roads lead to a conservative treatment encompassing only the below

  1. Diet
  2. Prophylactic migraine meds or Diuretics
  3. Avoiding posture and strain to inner ear (sleeping or lifting weights)
  4. Stress avoidance

In the rare case they do find something off in the ear then surgery is an option but all ENTs i have seen so far won’t even admit to an ear problem
