L-carnitine in addition to lipoic acid for migraines

Hey all, The effects of magnesium, L-carnitine, and concurrent magnesium-L-carnitine supplementation in migraine prophylaxis - PubMed

Also: Acetyl-L-carnitine improves pain, nerve regeneration, and vibratory perception in patients with chronic diabetic neuropathy: an analysis of two randomized placebo-controlled trials - PubMed

Looks like there may be some hope that l-carnitine (500mg/day) as well as alpha lipoic acid (600mg/day) may be helpful in addition to magnesium (at least 400mg/day) for preventing migraines/healing nerves (the second link). i’ll give it a go…

Any results?

original post is an old post from april 2016…alpha lipoic acid holds some promise based on some trials.

Ah thanks! Do you know if they recommend acetyl l-Caritine with it (and if so what dosage for each)?
