Headache and dizziness questions? Please help

Hi

I’ve been having a headache for the past 3 days. My ENT says its MAV with some MDDS, cause I have the rocking sensation with it. My dizziness starts with the feeling of movement in my head then the head pain with enck and shoulder pains will start and they will last for hours to days. Does this sound like MAV? I saw the ENT 2 weeks ago and told him I didn’t want to take the topamax because of the side effects it causes. He check me over and said I seemed much better just doing the VRT, but now this headache with a new type of dizziness has started, it feels like I’m falling and also moving when sitting or standing. It also causes a lot of anxiety for me. I also get the feeling like I’m going to one side or the other. Does all this sound normal for this? I have made an appt to see him today about this, as its scaring me. Nothing seems to help the headache either. I just wanted to know if this sounds like MAV? For 10 months I had the rocking sensation now this. I don’t know what else to do now. But I think I may have to try some meds. This is making me nuts and to much worry. If you have any answers cuold you please share them.

Thanks so much.

Nortriptyline and gabapentin have helped me out at low doses because I’m sensitive to side effects.

Topamax had too many side effects for me but has helped others a lot over a period of time - I think it takes longer. Worth a shot though perhaps if you’re not too med sensitive.

In terms of supplements, I’ve gotten GREAT relief from GAIA herbs “St Johns Wort” standardized extract taken three times a day in oil form. I take 400mg of magnesium glycinate KAL brand 2 x a day and 200mg of CoQ10 as well as 400mg of B2. That all in combo seems to do a miracle as long as I avoid gluten (and possibly dairy- the jury is still out on whether that’s a big trigger for me).

I’ll take the occasional nortriptyline if I am getting a severe migraine after a lot of exposure to triggers - just 1 pill kills the migraine for me (10mg one). Gabapentin is good for decreasing anxiety but it has a water retention sx after longer term use for me. The issue with all meds and even St Johns Wort is that unless you watch your diet and salt intake you can gain weight.
